A massive drone attack on the Moscow region lasted ten hours — from 8:30 p.m. the previous evening until 6:30 a.m., Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. He reported that more than 390 drones were launched toward the capital. Most were shot down on the far approaches, with 81 destroyed as they neared Moscow.
One drone hit an apartment building in the Moscow suburb of Chekhov, on Zemskaya Street, according to Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov. The outlet Astra published video from the scene. Chekhov administration head Mikhail Sobakin said two apartments and the facade were damaged, with no casualties.
A second target was the Chekhov Regenerate Plant, a facility that processes worn-out car tires. Tires caught fire on an open area there. Astra noted that 800 meters from the plant lies the Gidrostalkonstruktsiya factory, which produces equipment for the energy sector.
In the village of Vaulovo, a private house caught fire, and in the village of Dubna, drone fragments damaged a dacha. According to Astra, a warehouse of the logistics company 3PL in the Koleidino industrial park also caught fire. Nearby is a Wildberries distribution center, which is operating normally, the marketplace's press service said.
Vorobyov said that "several dozen drones" were shot down over Domodedovo, Podolsk, Ramenskoye, and Kolomna. Airports Vnukovo, Zhukovsky, and Domodedovo imposed flight restrictions. A drone danger regime was in effect in the region, and the Emergency Situations Ministry urged residents to stay away from windows and take shelter indoors.
