Debris from a downed drone struck administrative buildings at an oil depot in the Kagalnitsky district of the Rostov region, regional governor Yuri Slyusar said. There was no fire and no one was injured, according to the head of the region.
Air defense forces shot down drones over Taganrog and the Kagalnitsky and Neklinovsky districts, Slyusar said.
In the Dinskoy district of the Krasnodar region, falling drone debris caused a fire at one of the area's enterprises, according to the regional operational headquarters. No one was injured. The headquarters did not specify what the enterprise was.
Russia's Defense Ministry said 40 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over Russian regions and annexed Crimea.
The Rostov region is regularly targeted by drone attacks. Last week Ukraine carried out a large-scale attack on the region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that on the night of September 17 an An-12 aircraft, two An-26 aircraft and three more helicopters were hit at the Rostov-on-Don-Central military airfield. On the night of September 15, the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, citing NASA FIRMS data, reported fires at the Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex and the Taganrog Aviation Plant.
Accounts differ: the Rostov region governor says there was no fire in the region and no one was injured; the Ukrainian side did not claim any targets that night, and there is no independent confirmation of the nature of the damage at the sites.
