Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said 65 drones were shot down over the region in what he called a "large-scale attack," with damage reported at an oil refinery. Yevrayev wrote that fires were being extinguished, that debris blew out windows in several apartment buildings and damaged cars. There were no deaths or injuries, he said.
The Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Supernova+ and the outlet Astra reported that the Slavneft-YANOS refinery was on fire. It is among Russia's five largest refineries, with a capacity of about 15 million tons of oil a year. The plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and jet fuel. Astra noted that the plant has caught fire at least eight times since the start of the year. According to Deutsche Welle, this is the ninth attack on the Yaroslavl refinery since the start of 2026.
Authorities closed a section of the M-8 highway, the exit from Yaroslavl toward Moscow, and public transport routes were changed.
Rostov Region head Yuri Slyusar announced a "massive air attack" and more than 50 drones shot down over the region. According to him, drones were downed overnight in Rostov, Bataysk, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Taganrog and ten districts of the region.
The resulting fire was extinguished, according to the governor. Falling drone debris damaged a transformer substation, cutting electricity in Rostov's Voroshilovsky, Leninsky, Oktyabrsky and Kirovsky districts. Windows, roofing and glazing of six private houses, as well as outbuildings, were damaged. Slyusar did not report any injuries.
The governor did not specify exactly where the fire occurred. According to the Ukrainian channel Exilenova+, drones attacked the Rostov-on-Don-Central military airfield, targeting aircraft and base infrastructure. Astra, citing OSINT analysis, reported that the fire likely occurred in an area with parking for aircraft and helicopters.
In Novorossiysk, one of the enterprises caught fire due to "falling drone debris," the operational headquarters of Krasnodar Region said. According to its data, the fire was extinguished and no one was injured.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces also attacked the Moscow region, with Sergei Sobyanin reporting six drones shot down that were flying toward Moscow.
Sources differ: Ukrainian monitoring channels and Astra identify the target of the strike in Rostov as the Rostov-on-Don-Central military airfield. Governor Slyusar does not name the location of the fire. In Yaroslavl, Governor Yevrayev reported damage to a refinery, but the specific plant, Slavneft-YANOS, was named only by Astra and Telegram channels and has not been officially confirmed.
