The case materials were filed with the Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow, according to the outlet Ostorozhno, Novosti, which spotted the case card. The protocol was drawn up following an inspection by the prosecutor's office of Moscow's North-Western Administrative District.
It is not yet known which "undesirable" organization is at issue, and the details of the administrative case have not been disclosed.
Under Article 20.33, the musician faces a fine of up to 15,000 rubles. A repeat violation could serve as grounds for criminal prosecution.
Grebenshchikov has been the subject of administrative protocols before. In May 2023, one was drawn up under the article on "discrediting" the Russian army; the grounds for the case were not disclosed at the time. In June of that year, the Tversky District Court of Moscow fined him 50,000 rubles under the same article over an interview with Israel's Channel 9.
In June 2023, the Justice Ministry added Grebenshchikov to its register of "foreign agents." The ministry said the musician had given concerts abroad to raise financial aid for Ukraine.
In October 2025, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined Grebenshchikov 40,000 rubles for "violating the procedure for the activity of a foreign agent" over a publication on the YouTube channel "Akvarium | BG+" without the required "foreign agent" labeling.
Grebenshchikov left Russia in 2020. He currently lives in the United Kingdom.
In June 2022, Nashe Radio took Grebenshchikov's own program, Aerostat, off the air. Before it was due to air, pro-war Telegram channels called for complaints about the show, and the prosecutor's office notified the station of an upcoming inspection. The station's management then canceled the broadcast.
