Morgunova told the outlet No Future that she is in Europe and traveling to France. According to her, she was given three days to leave and was told she had been detained because she is Krisevich's wife.
Krisevich announced on social media that his wife had left Russia. According to him, immigration procedures do not yet allow the couple to live together, and they are currently looking for housing for Morgunova and their dog in France.
Morgunova was detained on August 28 in the Ryazan region on a bus during a document check. According to people close to her, security officers demanded she unlock her phone, and after she refused, they threatened to detain her mother and turn the dog out into the street. Morgunova unlocked the device, after which her mother and the dog were released.
Lawyer Natalya Tikhonova said that FSB officers pressured Morgunova in the detention facility and threatened her. According to the defense lawyer, she was insulted and driven to a severe psychological state, with demands that she agree to operational cooperation. Morgunova was subsequently given ten days of administrative arrest under a protocol on disobeying police officers.
Before her release, she was taken to an operative who, according to her account, noticed her dilated pupils and suggested she undergo a medical examination. Morgunova asked to wait for a lawyer. The police officer treated this as a refusal and drew up a protocol on evading testing for narcotic substance use. A magistrate sentenced her to a further 14 days of arrest.
Pavel Krisevich is in France, where he has applied for political asylum. In January 2025 he was released after serving time for an action on Red Square during which he shot himself in the head with a blank cartridge. In November of that same year he was added to the registry of "foreign agents." After a series of administrative arrests, the artist left Russia in December.
In August, former Pussy Riot member Rita Flores said she had been recruited by the FSB and had gathered information for security officers about Krisevich and other activists and artists.
