The overnight strike hit residential areas across the Ukrainian capital, with debris falling near a five-story building in the Solomenskyi district, shattering windows and starting a fire, and damaging the upper floors of a nine-story apartment block. People were reported trapped in one shelter.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko initially reported three dead and 20 wounded, then revised the figures. Fourteen of the wounded were hospitalized, while the rest received treatment on the spot, he said.
The same district saw damage to a children's hospital, with cars catching fire on its grounds. Fires broke out in non-residential buildings in the Darnytskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. Ukrainian Telegram channels also reported strikes on warehouses in Brovary, outside Kyiv.
