Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko said that officials in the regional government will be subject to the same fuel purchase limits as all residents. "Authority must set an example," he explained.
Drozdenko clarified that the limit is sufficient for current tasks, and if fuel runs short, "video conferencing hasn't been canceled." He added that he gave similar recommendations to heads of local self-government bodies — to introduce the same restrictions for official vehicles of local administration officials.
Fuel sale restrictions began to be introduced in Russia amid a fuel crisis exacerbated by Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil facilities. In the Leningrad Region, gas station chains set their own sales volumes: for example, at the end of June, Lukoil sold no more than 30 liters per person, according to Mediazona.
In St. Petersburg, unlike the Leningrad Region, such limits for officials have not been introduced. According to sources of Rotonda, official vehicles are refueled in the general order at Rosneft gas stations. At the same time, the hotline told the outlet that official cars should be allowed through without waiting in line.
