Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 350 Ukrainian drones attacked the capital and Moscow region on Tuesday, with most shot down on the outskirts and around 50 intercepted as they approached the city.
Three people were killed and three wounded when a drone fell in the settlement of Pionersky in the Istra district, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported. Five private homes caught fire there, and two more were damaged in the nearby village of Babkino.
In Solnechnogorsk, a drone struck an apartment building, injuring two people and damaging a wall and windows. In Mozhaisk, a drone damaged the cornice and glazing of an apartment building with no casualties, Vorobyov said. In total, 81 drones were shot down or suppressed over the Moscow region, according to the governor.
In Vladimir, a falling drone shattered windows in an apartment in a high-rise building, prompting the evacuation of 39 people, including eight children. No deaths or injuries were reported, said Vladimir Region Governor Alexander Avdeyev.
In the Stavropol region, a fire broke out in an industrial zone near the Khutor Vyazniki settlement. Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said no one was hurt. The Insider, analyzing NASA satellite monitoring data, detected a thermal anomaly in the area, which contains production and storage facilities as well as tanks resembling an oil depot. This was the second attack on an oil depot in the settlement within a week.
At the Kavkaz port in Krasnodar region, a petroleum product transshipment complex and a railway station are burning after a strike, according to the monitoring group Krymsky Veter. The Insider confirmed thermal anomalies near the port and tracks. The terminal is used for transshipping oil and fuel oil, including supplies to Crimea.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) said it had prevented attacks on the Ukrainka and Shagol military airfields in the Amur and Chelyabinsk regions, respectively. The agency announced the detention of alleged perpetrators and accomplices without specifying their number. According to the FSB, Ukrainian special services smuggled FPV drones, warheads, and control stations into the Bryansk region in containers using drones and balloons.
Sources differed on casualty figures: Vorobyov reported three dead and three wounded in Istra, plus two wounded in Solnechnogorsk, for a total of five wounded. The Insider reported five wounded overall. The Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ linked the deaths of Moscow region residents to air defense operations, while Russian authorities attributed them to falling drones.
