The first section of Moscow's Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line opened on September 5. The station "Bulvar Generala Karbysheva," named after Soviet General Dmitry Karbyshev, a military engineer, features the inscription "Special Military Operation. Engineering Troops," the Telegram channel SotaVision reported.
According to SotaVision, the station's bas-reliefs depict drones, modern servicemen and military uniforms, with one bearing the Russian abbreviation "SVO" for "special military operation." Images of the Gold Star medal of Hero of the Soviet Union adorn the platform walls, and the station's name is rendered in black and orange colors.
The new line includes five stations: Delovoy Tsentr, Shelepikha, Zvenigorodskaya, Narodnoye Opolcheniye and Bulvar Generala Karbysheva. The last three are new, while the others have operated since 2018 as part of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and the city's construction complex did not show the war-themed decor in their announcements. Their descriptions said the platform columns are decorated with bas-reliefs dedicated to military engineers, and the station was conceived as a tribute to the engineering troops and the feat of Lieutenant General Dmitry Karbyshev.
