The reconstruction of the center began in January and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027, Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel, as reported by Current Time. Landscaping work on the adjoining Yekaterininsky Park is to be finished earlier, by the end of 2026.

Sobyanin said the facility would be a single complex with "full-fledged infrastructure created for the first time" for the recovery and rehabilitation of participants in the invasion of Ukraine. High-tech equipment will be installed in the building, according to Ekho.

The palace will house a water wellness complex with a swimming pool, a walking school, therapeutic physical training and kinesiotherapy halls, and physiotherapy rooms. Yoga, martial arts and therapeutic gymnastics classes are also planned, Novaya Gazeta Europe reported.

Alongside the rehabilitation facilities, the center will offer creative workshops for art therapy, libraries, and music and dance classes.

Sobyanin said the emphasis would be on "flexible, daytime and short-term formats" so as "not to tear a person away from work and family." According to him, every visitor to the center will find "like-minded people, support and new interests."

The park is to be equipped with a boat station, an amphitheater, a family center and renovated sports grounds. Yekaterininsky Park lies between the rehabilitation center on Olimpiysky Prospekt and the Russian Army Theater.
