Ozon's press service said the company filed an appeal after the removal. "After the removal, we filed an appeal, and you see the result," the press service wrote. Two other company apps remain under review.

The marketplace's apps disappeared from Google Play on August 15. A few days earlier, on August 12, the store removed the Ozon Bank app, which is under European Union sanctions. The marketplace itself and other Ozon services are not sanctioned, so the reason for the removal is unclear. The company emphasized that it had not violated Google Play rules.

Earlier, other Russian services were removed from app stores in the same pattern. On August 12, the app for the Yandex Pay payment system disappeared from the App Store — it operates through the sanctioned Yandex Bank. In late June, the App Store removed apps for VK, Odnoklassniki, Mail.ru, Dzen, and other VK services, as well as the Makh messenger.
