Yevgeny Podduzny, a prominent Russian war correspondent and United Russia candidate for the State Duma, declared ownership of shares in several foreign companies, including Apple Inc., Intel Corporation, and Nebius Group, according to a financial disclosure published by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and reported by Kommersant.

Podduzny holds eight shares in the Dutch-registered Nebius Group (founded by Yandex co-founder Arkady Volozh), four shares in Apple Inc., four in The Procter & Gamble Company, and one share in Intel Corporation. The declaration also lists stakes in the foreign funds FinEx USA Information Technology UCITS ETF and FinEx Physically Backed Funds ICAV.

Russian law prohibits candidates from owning foreign financial assets at the time of registration unless there are objective reasons beyond their control. Candidates unable to divest must notify the election commission and demonstrate they have taken all necessary steps.

A spokesperson for United Russia said that by the time Podduzny submitted his registration documents, he had “completed all actions to alienate foreign financial instruments” and provided the relevant paperwork to the CEC.

In 2021, Communist Party candidate Pavel Grudinin was removed from the Duma ballot over his foreign shareholdings.

Podduzny, a war correspondent for state broadcaster VGTRK and one of Russia’s most prominent propagandists, has more than 500,000 Telegram subscribers. In August 2024, he was seriously wounded in a Ukrainian drone attack in Kursk region. In September 2024, President Vladimir Putin awarded him the title Hero of Russia. In June 2026, Podduzny was placed in the top five of United Russia’s federal list for the Duma election, alongside Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, children’s ombudswoman Maria Lvova-Belova, and Vladislav Golovin, head of the Yunarmiya youth military-patriotic movement. Podduzny is under sanctions from the EU, UK, Canada, and Australia.
