Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack involved 358 air attack assets, including ballistic missiles and strike drones. The Ukrainian Air Force reported shooting down or suppressing 320 targets: one ballistic missile, 54 cruise missiles, and 265 drones. Three anti-ship missiles, six ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 17 drones hit 20 facilities, according to the military.
The heaviest damage occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the village of Radushne, Kryvyi Rih district, a missile destroyed residential buildings. Regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha reported six dead, including a 6-year-old girl and boys aged 11 and 17. Zelensky said the dead in Radushne included parents and three children from one family. Rescuers pulled two other children alive from the rubble. Eight people were wounded.
In Kyiv, one person was killed and two injured. Fires broke out at a market in the Obolon district, a garage cooperative, and a non-residential building. In the village of Skibyn, Kyiv region, a private home was partially destroyed and two neighboring houses damaged. Five people were injured, including a child; three were pulled from the rubble.
In Lviv, 21 residential buildings, a school, and two kindergartens were damaged. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said 31 people were wounded, including three children. Rescuers continued clearing rubble from one damaged building.
Strikes also hit the Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. In Poltava, warehouse fires killed one person.
Zelensky linked the scale of destruction and casualties to delays in delivering anti-ballistic missile systems to Ukraine. “The untimeliness of aid, delays in deliveries of anti-ballistic missiles — these are the kind of destruction, exactly the kind of casualties that, unfortunately, we have today,” he said.
Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed the massive strike, saying it targeted military airfields, defense industry enterprises, telecommunications and logistics centers, and three dry cargo ships near Odesa. It provided no evidence. The ministry later published an image with the caption: “We light up the morning, we ignite the sky.”
The attack triggered alarm in neighboring Poland. Sirens sounded in the Lublin Voivodeship, and fighter jets were scrambled. A crater about ten meters in diameter and metal debris were found in a field near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia.
