On the morning of June 28, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on Zaporizhzhia, dropping guided bombs that hit a private home and the area next to a high-rise apartment building, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
Two people were killed. The identity of the second victim is being established, Fedorov said. Earlier reports indicated that a 53-year-old woman had died.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 16 people were wounded: four men, eight women, and two children. Among the injured is a five-year-old boy who was hospitalized in serious condition.
Rescuers pulled a woman and a child from the rubble. According to the National Police, two people are missing. The search and debris clearance operation is ongoing.
