Five people died at the scene and a sixth died of injuries in hospital, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said. At least ten people were injured.

The strike damaged a nine-story apartment building on Sobornosti Avenue, where two people were hurt, including a child. Lutsk City Council secretary Andrii Razumovskyi said the strike hit the Eurogurt warehouse on Koniakhina Street.

Volyn regional administration head Roman Romaniuk reported the attack on the warehouse in Lutsk, the administrative center of the Volyn region in western Ukraine.

Lutsk, like other cities in western Ukraine, lies hundreds of kilometers from Russia's borders and from Russian-controlled territory. Russian strikes on Ukraine's western regions have become more frequent recently, using jet-powered drones capable of covering hundreds of kilometers in a short time.

On October 12 and 13, such drones struck a university building in Rivne, an entertainment center in Lutsk and the Lviv region, among other targets. The drones are launched from annexed Crimea and fly over the Odesa region and along the border with Moldova, covering distances of 800 to 900 kilometers.

Overnight, Russia carried out a massed attack on Kyiv.
