Russian forces launched 135 drones against Ukraine overnight into August 21, with Ukrainian air defenses shooting down 107 of them, the Ukrainian Air Force command reported.

In the village of Lebyazhye in the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region, two women aged 73 and 66 were killed and two others, aged 41 and 73, were wounded, regional military administration head Oleh Syniehubov said. Residential houses in the private sector were destroyed or damaged, and a fire covering 400 square meters broke out, the State Emergency Service said.

In Sumy, six people were injured, including a 16-year-old girl, regional military administration head Oleh Hryhorov said. All the wounded are residents of a two-story building that a drone struck with precision, he said. A 50-year-old woman remains hospitalized; the others are receiving outpatient treatment.

In the Odesa region, a drone hit the Tabaky international road checkpoint on the border with Moldova. Buildings and structures at the crossing were damaged and fires broke out on its territory, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said. Passage of people and vehicles through the checkpoint has been suspended.
