Drones struck Ivankiv Lyceum No. 2 in the Vyshhorod district of the Kyiv region, setting the building on fire, with flames covering more than 300 square meters, according to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv regional military administration. No one was in the lyceum at the time of the attack; about 1,100 children study there.
Tkachenko said Russian forces had added terror against public infrastructure to their strikes on civilian sites by hitting schools. According to him, no students were in the building at the time of the shelling.
In Kyiv's Obolonskyi district, a drone fell on a two-story building, presumably a kindergarten, according to the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko. A fire broke out there. TSN, reporting from the scene, confirmed that a preschool facility was damaged by the drone.
The strikes on educational institutions came amid a mass attack on Kyiv. Over the past day, seven people were killed and another 59 wounded in the city by Russian strikes, Klitschko said. Among the dead is a 14-year-old teenager. Two children were hospitalized, and 25 of the injured are in hospitals, one of them in serious condition.
Russia also attacked a data center belonging to the company Cosmonova. The premises were damaged, and no employees were hurt. During the day, the Inkom business center, which housed the provider Datagroup, was attacked. Volodymyr Zelensky promised to strengthen the protection of data centers and other facilities in the communications sector.
