Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding district with guided aerial bombs (KABs) on the evening of July 19, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration. One bomb hit a five-story residential building, completely destroying two floors. Windows and balconies were damaged in a nine-story building, a logistics center terminal caught fire, and private homes were also damaged.
The attacks killed an 11-year-old girl and two women aged 71 and 72, Fedorov said. At least 42 people were wounded, including eight children. Rescue workers continued to clear debris, with people possibly still trapped underneath.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 1,015 strikes on 53 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, Fedorov added. According to his data, 300 reports of damage to infrastructure, housing, and vehicles were received.
Earlier the same day, Russian forces dropped aerial bombs on Sumy. One person was killed and three were wounded, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration. Strikes hit residential areas and an industrial zone.
