Russian Missile Attack on Kyiv and Odesa Injures 16, Including Children

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said an office building and a residential building were damaged in the Dniprovskyi district, with debris recorded near warehouse premises and a gas station.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS) said most of the injured in Kyiv were residents of a 16-story apartment building in the Dniprovskyi district that was struck by a drone. Nine people remain in hospitals. Among the wounded are a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old child.

In the Solomianskyi district, a warehouse was destroyed, and in the Sviatoshynskyi district a hit on a non-residential building was recorded. In the Holosiivskyi district, according to the DSNS, the facade and glazing of a four-story university building were damaged. The name of the institution was not specified; there were no dead or injured there.

In Odesa, according to Serhiy Lysak, head of the city's military administration, a 19-story residential building was damaged: apartments from the 14th to the 16th floors were destroyed. Six people were wounded, including two children. In another part of the city, a private house was destroyed and another damaged, with outbuildings affected. Infrastructure was also damaged.

Russia's Defense Ministry said that as a result of the overnight attack, enterprises of the metallurgical and radio-electronic industries, energy and transport infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia and Odesa region, as well as maritime vessels involved in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, were hit.

The previous evening in Sumy, one person was killed and nine others wounded, including two children, as a result of Russian airstrikes. According to the DSNS, guided aerial bombs destroyed and damaged private residential buildings, outbuildings and civilian cars.

Sources differ: Meduza and TV Rain reported 16 and 12 injured in Kyiv respectively, while Deutsche Welle reported at least 12. On Odesa, Meduza and TV Rain reported six wounded, including two children, whereas Deutsche Welle, citing Serhiy Lysak, reported at least three injured, including a four-year-old child.
