Russian forces launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv, Lviv, Kryvyi Rih and other Ukrainian cities overnight on July 30, killing seven people including three children, Ukrainian authorities reported.
In the village of Radushne near Kryvyi Rih, an Iskander-M ballistic missile struck a private home where a large family lived, killing a 6-year-old girl, two boys aged 11 and 17, and three adults. Eight more people, including two children aged 6 and 15, were wounded. Two houses were completely destroyed and five damaged.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the capital was targeted with ballistic missiles. In the Obolon district, market pavilions caught fire, and in the Sviatoshyn district, a garage cooperative was hit. One person died and two were injured.
In Lviv, 26 people were injured, according to Mayor Andriy Sadovyi. Two residential apartment buildings on Paton and Vyhovsky streets, a school, and two kindergartens were damaged. In Kharkiv, a Shahed drone struck an industrial zone; no further details were provided.
In the Kyiv region, five people including one child were injured, with a private home partially destroyed in the village of Skibyn, according to the State Emergency Service.
Russia's Defense Ministry said the strikes targeted military airfields, defense industry enterprises, and communication facilities in Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Vinnytsia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as dry cargo ships at the Pivdennyi port and near Odesa.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned the previous day of a high probability of a massive attack, saying Russian forces had been preparing the strike for several days. He called on partners to provide air defense missiles, especially for Patriot systems.
