Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk regional military administration, said the attacks took place between 20:30 and 20:56 local time, with eight strikes recorded on Kramatorsk and Bilenke. Preliminary information indicates the use of aerial bombs.
In Kramatorsk, the strikes hit residential areas, damaging an apartment building and partially collapsing a section of a nine-story block, which caught fire. Emergency services are working at the sites, and the full extent of the damage is being assessed, Filashkin said.
"Russia has again turned an ordinary evening in the city into mortal danger," Filashkin said in a statement.
Kramatorsk has been regularly targeted by Russian air attacks. On August 4, a strike using FAB glide bombs on residential neighborhoods wounded 22 people; Ukrainian authorities later said one person died in that attack and the number of wounded rose to 27. Russian forces also struck the city in late July.
