Russian forces attacked warehouse facilities of Nova Poshta in the Kyiv region overnight on August 28, according to Anton Ovsienko, head of the Bilohorodka community. He said casualty information was being clarified as emergency crews worked at the scene.
Ovsienko noted that "the enemy is using the tactic of repeated strikes": nearly an hour after the first hit, while firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, two more strikes were carried out on the same location. Rescuers managed to move to a safer area. In addition to the Nova Poshta warehouses, a production facility nearby in Sviatopetrivske was damaged.
The State Emergency Service said the fire at the warehouses had been contained, adding that 13 vehicles also burned and windows were blown out in an apartment building.
In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone attacked the Epicentr hypermarket on the morning of August 28, sparking a fire covering about 2,000 square meters. Four people were wounded, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional administration.
In the town of Zmiiv in the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region, Russian forces struck a residential area, setting fire to two private houses where people were present. According to the regional prosecutor's office, a 38-year-old woman was killed and two people were injured, including her 10-year-old daughter.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 164 drones at Ukraine overnight on August 28, of which 137 were shot down. Russia's Defense Ministry said it had struck a warehouse complex (Stellar Jet) in the Kyiv region, where Flamingo missiles and fuel were allegedly stored, as well as six storage facilities in the port of Odesa.
