Russian forces launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 65 attack drones at Ukraine overnight on August 19, the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force reported. According to the military, 56 drones were shot down.
One person was killed in the overnight strikes on Zaporizhzhia, regional military administration head Ivan Fedorov said. Six people were wounded, according to his figures, while the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported seven injured.
The attack sparked fires on the second floor of a hostel, where the body of a man was found, and in a furniture store. In a two-story apartment building, the roof was damaged and windows were blown out.
In the morning, the Russian army dropped a guided aerial bomb on Zaporizhzhia, destroying a private house. The blast wave damaged neighboring houses and outbuildings.
