Three people were killed and six wounded in Dnipro when a strike hit warehouses and an industrial facility, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service. People may still be trapped under the rubble of the destroyed site, said Oleksandr Hanja, head of the regional military administration.
In Kyiv, a five-story residential building in the Dniprovskyi district was struck. The first floor was partially destroyed and a fire broke out in the basement. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said four people were wounded, three of them hospitalized, and 15 more residents were evacuated. A warehouse in the Holosiivskyi district was also targeted.
Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad came under ballistic missile attack. Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, said that after the ballistic strikes Russian forces attacked the same targets with cruise missiles. In Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad there were no deaths or injuries, the regional administration said.
According to Ukraine's Air Force, air defenses intercepted 186 aerial targets over Ukrainian territory overnight: 177 drones, eight jet-powered drones and one cruise missile. The Russian military launched 220 drones, four Kalibr cruise missiles, Onyx anti-ship missiles and Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles. Hits were recorded at 22 locations, with debris falling at four.
Russia's Defense Ministry said that during the massed strike it hit enterprises in the metallurgical and chemical industries, the fuel and energy sector and the military-industrial complex, port infrastructure facilities in Kyiv and the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Odesa regions, as well as vessels used in the interests of Ukraine's Armed Forces. The ministry gave no other details.
Sources differ on the death toll in Dnipro. Ukraine's State Emergency Service and the head of the regional administration report three dead and six wounded. Ekho, citing local authorities and the State Emergency Service, gives a figure of two dead and six injured, one of them in serious condition. The Moscow Times also cites three dead and ten wounded as a result of the attacks on Ukrainian cities.
