Russian forces launched overnight strikes on several Ukrainian regions, with most hits landing on residential buildings. In Kherson, shelling of residential quarters killed two people, according to Yaroslav Shanko, head of the city military administration. Regional military administration head Oleksandr Prokudin said at least two more people were injured and some homes were destroyed to the ground.
In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian attack set a shopping center ablaze, with the fire covering about 10,000 square meters. A residential building was also damaged, and around 1,200 consumers lost electricity. In Odesa, a fire broke out in a fifth-floor apartment of a ten-story building; it was extinguished with no casualties. In Poltava region, an industrial enterprise caught fire, with no injuries reported preliminarily.
According to Prokudin, the strike on Kherson involved FPV drones, reconnaissance UAVs, drone-droppers, and Molniya-type attack drones. In Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region, one person died and nine were wounded over the past day, with a total of 1,011 strikes across 57 settlements.
Russia's Defense Ministry routinely says it only targets military sites and does not comment on civilian deaths or damage to civilian infrastructure.
