Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russia-appointed governor of Sevastopol, said a drone attack on the city severely damaged a five-story residential building. According to him, two people were injured and two more were wounded.
Razvozhayev also said two buildings of a kindergarten and more than 15 cars were damaged.
Earlier on August 27, Sevastopol had already come under a drone attack, with an air raid alert declared in the city. At the time, Razvozhayev said Russian forces shot down seven drones over the city and reported two grass fires in the Gagarinsky district. No casualties were reported.
Ukraine's General Staff reported striking a drone control point in Olenivka and an area of concentration of Russian troops in Voskhod in Crimea. The strikes, according to the military, were carried out on August 26 and overnight into August 27. The Russian side did not comment on these statements.
The accounts differ: Russian authorities and Ukraine's General Staff give different versions of what happened. Razvozhayev reports damage to a residential building and casualties but does not mention strikes on military targets. The Ukrainian General Staff says it hit a drone control point and areas of troop concentration, without commenting on damage to civilian infrastructure.
