More than 40 drones were downed over the Samara region, Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said, without naming the facility. He reported damage at an industrial enterprise and shattered windows in several residential buildings. No casualties were reported.
The Telegram channels Exilenova+, Supernova+ and Astra said the Syzran refinery was on fire. According to Astra's analysis, one of the fire's sources is in the tank farm area. Supernova+ reported a fire at one of the recently repaired ELU-AVT units and called the attack the "most massive" on the plant since the war began.
The Syzran refinery is part of Rosneft. Its capacity is 8.5 million metric tons a year, or 170,000 barrels a day. According to Astra, this is at least the sixth hit on the plant.
In the Rostov region, the city of Taganrog was hit. Governor Yuri Slyusar reported a "massive missile attack" and damage: windows blown out in two apartment buildings and three private houses, an educational institution, a commercial building, a gas pipe, farm warehouses, a grocery store and an Ozon warehouse. There were no dead or injured, he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry said 222 Ukrainian drones were downed over more than 10 regions. Strikes on the Voronezh region were also reported.
Russia attacked Kyiv overnight. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, hits were recorded at two gas stations and warehouse premises. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a man was seriously wounded in the Darnytskyi district. By 9:10 a.m. the number of injured had risen to six. Ukraine's Air Force said Russia attacked the country with 200 strike drones, of which 187 were downed.
Over Lithuania, fighter jets of Italy's NATO patrol mission downed a drone for the first time. The debris fell near Kaunas. Lithuanian authorities say the drone probably flew in from Belarus; the armed forces urged waiting for the results of the investigation. Fighter jets were scrambled in Romania because of drones near the border with Ukraine, and in Poland because of attacks on western Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented a day earlier on US President Donald Trump's statement that Russia and Ukraine were ready to stop strikes on energy facilities. According to Zelensky, if partners guarantee that Russia will not strike Ukraine's power grid, other energy facilities, critical infrastructure and food supplies, then Ukraine is ready to guarantee the same in response.
