Authorities in Russia's Transbaikal region have imposed a limit of 15 liters on fuel sales to individuals, the independent outlet Sibir.Reali reported.
The region had earlier introduced a state of heightened alert due to a fuel shortage.
Regional governor Alexander Osipov said the shortage was provoked by "enemies and panic-mongers." He ordered fuel companies to ensure a month's supply for emergency services and to "introduce a mechanism for switching to gas motor fuel." Regional authorities promised to approve a list of businesses that would receive fuel out of turn.
