Two children died and two adults were hospitalized with injuries after Ukrainian drones struck civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in the Yeysk district of Russia's Krasnodar region, regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev said. One drone fell in a private residential area, while debris from another hit an enterprise at the port, sparking a fire.
The victims were members of a local family, Kondratyev reported without specifying the exact location of the strike.
Ukrainian and Russian monitoring channels had earlier reported the port fire in Yeysk, citing eyewitness photos and videos. What exactly caught fire remains unclear; one version suggests a vessel.
Russia's Defense Ministry said air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 457 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, annexed Crimea, and the Black and Azov Seas. In the Samara region, an Ozon warehouse and an oil refinery came under attack, with several people wounded.
