Overnight, Ukrainian drones struck Rostov-on-Don, killing a married couple and wounding five people, two of them in serious condition including a teenager, according to Rostov Oblast Governor Yuri Slyusar.
Destruction and fires were reported in three districts of the city: Zheleznodorozhny, Proletarsky and Leninsky. Rostov Mayor Alexander Skryabin said one drone hit a multi-story apartment building on Beregovaya Street. Several private homes, a social facility and cars were also damaged.
Fires broke out on the grounds of a private enterprise, warehouse facilities and several private households. According to the outlet Astra, smoke rose over the fourth cargo area of the Rostov Sea Commercial Port. The damaged building is about 1.5 km from the port. Most fires were extinguished; one blaze covering 400 square meters was still being fought at the time of publication.
The same night, Ukrainian drones also struck Belgorod. According to the Belgorod Oblast operational headquarters, 12 people were injured, including two children. Several apartment buildings and more than 15 cars were destroyed, and a private home was partially damaged. The local outlet Pepel reported an emergency power and water outage in the city center.
