Russia's Defense Ministry reported intercepting and destroying 140 Ukrainian drones overnight on July 19, but did not say how many drones evaded its air defenses.
In the Stavropol region, drone attacks sparked fires at industrial facilities, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said. According to him, "flammable materials" were detonating at the sites, and there was no threat to residents' lives or health. The fires broke out in the industrial zone of the Vyazniki hamlet in the Shpakovsky district, where two fire sites were being extinguished, and in an industrial zone north of Stavropol. Authorities declared a local state of emergency and evacuated residents of nearby homes.
Independent outlet Astra reported that three oil depots may be burning in and around Stavropol, including a Rosneft depot in Vyazniki, the Korona and MK-Nefteprodukt facilities, and a Lukoil-owned Stavropol oil depot.
In Kursk, drones hit four apartment buildings, according to Governor Alexander Khinshtein. In one building, apartments on the top three floors were damaged; in two others, facades were damaged; and in the fourth, an apartment caught fire. Residents were evacuated. One woman suffered a barotrauma from the blast wave.
In the town of Lgov, Khinshtein said strikes hit a bus, a grocery store, and a bus stop. The bus driver and a man standing near the store were injured.
Drones also attacked the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's marine terminal near Novorossiysk, the consortium said. Two tankers were hit: the Liberia-flagged ASIA and the Marshall Islands-flagged NISSOS IOS. A fire broke out on the ASIA. No crew members or terminal staff were killed or injured, and no oil spill occurred.
