Ukrainian drones attacked the Saratov region in the early hours of the morning, wounding 10 people and damaging a Rosneft oil refinery, according to local officials and independent reporting.
Governor Roman Busargin declared a drone attack threat at around 4 a.m. local time, the outlet Ekho reported. An hour and a half later he reported damage to civilian infrastructure and casualties. Several homes were damaged and 10 people were wounded, including three children, the official later said. Six were hospitalized and their lives are not in danger, Busargin wrote. A temporary accommodation center was set up in the city for residents of the damaged houses.
The outlet Astra, geolocating photos and videos taken by witnesses, established that the likely target of the attack was the Saratov refinery of Rosneft, located at 1 Bryanskaya Street. According to the outlet, a fire broke out at the enterprise after the explosions. Busargin did not mention the attack on the refinery. The air raid alert was lifted at around 7:30 a.m.
The Saratov refinery, one of the oldest in Russia's industry, has operated since 1934 and is part of Rosneft's structure. Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian drones have attacked the plant four times: on March 21, May 31, July 8 and August 2. After the strikes, the enterprise halted oil processing.
