Ukrainian drones attacked a Wildberries distribution center in the Samara region, setting the warehouse on fire and causing it to "fully collapse," regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed. The company said preliminary reports indicate no casualties, and that incoming deliveries and outgoing orders have been rerouted to other logistics facilities.
Videos posted by eyewitnesses show the warehouse completely engulfed in flames, with a thick column of black smoke rising above it. Smoke from the fire spread for several kilometers.
One warehouse picker told the outlet 63.ru that the attack occurred during a shift change and employees immediately ran out. "The drones kept flying and flying. I don't know where they came from. It was constantly buzzing," he said.
According to the employee, in recent days workers had been barred from the upper tiers of the mezzanine — five-story racking extending toward the roof. "Employees were no longer allowed on the sixth and seventh levels due to drone attacks on Wildberries warehouses across Russia. It was done for safety," he said.
Governor Fedorishchev advised residents of the Krasnoyarsky district to monitor their health due to "combustion products in the air" and published addresses of medical facilities where they can seek help.
Robert Brovdi ("Magyar"), commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, wrote that the Wildberries warehouse in the Samara region was the "main bridge" between the European part of Russia and Siberia, and promised this would "definitely not be the last" strike.
