Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi (call sign 'Madyar') said that Ukrainian drones struck nine tankers from Russia's 'shadow fleet' in the Sea of Azov overnight on July 8. Over the past 72 hours, he said, 21 vessels have been attacked: 19 tankers, a dry cargo ship, and a ferry in Kerch.
Rostov region governor Yuri Slyusar confirmed that two vessels heading to Rostov-on-Don were damaged in the Taganrog Bay. Both tankers were empty, and no oil product spill occurred. The crew was evacuated from one of them, and two people sustained minor injuries.
In addition to the strikes on vessels, Brovdi reported attacks on six electrical substations in annexed Crimea. Over the past eight days, he said, 50 energy infrastructure facilities have been hit on the peninsula. In recent weeks, a gasoline crisis has emerged in Crimea due to Ukrainian strikes, and fuel sales at gas stations were completely halted on June 21. After a drone attack overnight on July 6, a large-scale blackout occurred on the peninsula.
