A mass drone attack on Nizhnekamsk in Russia's Tatarstan region continued overnight, with strikes hitting both industrial and civilian targets, Mayor Radmir Belyaev said. The press service of Tatarstan's head confirmed fatalities but did not give a number, and the region declared a period of mourning.

According to preliminary data from the Telegram channel Shot, which is close to Russian security forces, 10 people were killed and 15 injured. Other outlets have not confirmed this information.

The likely target of the attack, based on geolocation by the outlet Astra, was PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, one of Europe's largest petrochemical complexes, part of the SIBUR holding. The city's industrial zone also hosts two oil refineries owned by TAIF-NK and Taneco. Ukrainian monitoring channels published videos of a fire and suggested the strike hit a refinery.

The same night, other regions faced mass drone attacks. Rostov region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported more than 70 drones shot down over the region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 13 drones were intercepted on approach to the city, while Russia-appointed head of annexed Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev reported 15 drones downed and a forest fire near the Inkzher beach, where people were evacuated from a campsite. In the Belgorod region, a local woman was killed in an attack on the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, according to the regional operational headquarters.

Sources differ: Tatarstan's official authorities have not given a death toll, while the Telegram channel Shot reports 10 dead and 15 injured. Additionally, Astra identifies the Nizhnekamskneftekhim plant as the attack's target, while Ukrainian monitoring channels suggest the strike hit a refinery.
