Two people were killed in the Saratov region during a Ukrainian drone attack, according to regional governor Roman Busargin. In the city of Engels, a drone struck a multi-story residential building on Krasnodarskaya Street, 4, he said. In Saratov, a drone hit a building on Tulskaya Street, 53/26, injuring several residents, according to the independent outlet Astra.
The Ukrainian General Staff said the attack targeted the Engels air base, home to Russian strategic bombers Tu-95MS and Tu-160, and reported a fire at the airfield. In Saratov, a fire broke out at the Rosneft oil refinery, which Astra calculates has been attacked by Ukrainian forces 16 times.
Near Samara, in the settlement of Novosemeykino, a Wildberries warehouse caught fire after being hit by Ukrainian drones for the ninth time since mid-July. The company said there were no casualties and logistics chains had been rerouted.
The drones continued eastward. In Ufa, 25 drones were shot down, according to the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, with one downed over an industrial zone, sparking a fire. A Ukrainian OSINT project claims the Ufa refinery Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim is burning, having been attacked for the second time in two days.
The Ukrainian General Staff also confirmed a strike on a Rosneft oil depot in Lyudinovo, Kaluga region, which had not been previously reported. Nearly 150 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the Rostov region, according to governor Yuri Slyusar; in Millerovsky district, a cable on the roof of an elevator caught fire.
Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) imposed temporary restrictions at nine airports: Kazan, Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Bugulma, Nizhnekamsk, Penza, as well as Moscow's Domodedovo and Nizhny Novgorod airports.
