In the early hours of July 30, Russian forces struck the village of Radushne in the Kryvyi Rih district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, completely destroying a private home belonging to the Voronov family, which had eight children.
According to Zelensky, the remains of parents Olena and Artem Voronov, as well as three of their children — 17-year-old Mark, 11-year-old Azariy Ilai, and 6-year-old Emiliia — were recovered from the rubble. The fate of five other family members — Zakhariy, Dominika, Viorika, Federiko, and one-and-a-half-year-old Artem — remains unknown. Zelensky said the death toll could rise, as experts must determine whose body fragments were found at the site.
Zelensky stated that preliminary data indicated the strike was carried out with a ballistic missile of North Korean origin. “The alliance of Moscow’s scum with the insane regime in North Korea — for missiles, for a North Korean contingent here, in Europe, on our borders, and for killing our Ukrainian children,” the Ukrainian president said. He stressed that the conclusions would be definitively confirmed after forensic examinations.
Reuters also reported, citing two sources, that Russia had used a North Korean missile. One of the agency’s interlocutors said the use of these missiles reflects a tactic of striking only with munitions that can be intercepted solely by American Patriot systems. Reuters suggested that the use of a North Korean missile after a long hiatus indicates that Russia has received new supplies of such weapons.
Zelensky called for accelerating deliveries of ammunition for air defense systems capable of intercepting ballistic targets.
No official comment has been received from the Russian side.
