Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian drone strikes on two Wildberries logistics centers — in Elektrostal, Moscow Oblast, and Kotovsk, Tambov Oblast — were carried out in retaliation for Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Zelensky said the warehouses were used by the Russian military to supply sanctioned components for the production of drones and navigation equipment.
A total of seven people were killed and 49 injured in the overnight strikes on July 18, according to TV Rain, citing data from the night. In Kotovsk, seven night-shift employees were killed and 25 wounded, according to The Insider and Meduza. In Elektrostal, 24 people were injured.
Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim described the events as a “terrible night” and “pain that cannot be put into words.” In early July, the company updated its seller agreement, adding a clause that exempts the marketplace from liability for consequences of the use of weapons, including drones.
