Aleksandr Akimushkin

The reason for criminal prosecution was certain publications on VKontakte. Akimushkin's page contained materials of the "Vazhnie Istorii" (Important Stories) media, which was recognised as an "undesirable organisation", as well as links to the broadcasts of the YouTube channel "Populyarnaya Politika" (Popular Politics), which is produced by Alexei Navalny's team. In October 2022, the Vinogradovsky District Court of the Arkhangelsk region fined Akimushkin 30,000 rubles under the administrative article on discrediting the Russian army (part 1 of article 20.3.3.3 of the Administrative Code) because of fourteen publications on VKontakte. On appeal, the ruling was cancelled due to procedural violations. In November of the same year, the man was again labelled with a report on discrediting the Russian army, and then fined. This time, the punishment has been approved.
