According to the investigation, Baibulatov knowingly posted false information about the violation of environmental norms, the presence of radioactive waste repository and an anthrax cattle burial ground on the territory planned for development. The law enforcers believe that the population was misled by this video, which led to a significant increase in social tension and activation of protest activity. According to Idel.Realii, Baibulatov was charged with a post in his Telegram channel published on 22 April 2025. "The ecology of the Abzelilovsky district will go south," the public activist said in the video. In the post Baibulatov wrote, in particular, that "according to local residents, in 1968 nuclear waste was buried in the forests of that area." Therefore, the public activist noted, "it is necessary to conduct a radiological examination of the area." Baibulatov also reported that "near the village of Iskak (near Burangulovo) there is a concreted anthrax burial ground". Industrial development will cause dust pollution, possible radiation contamination and destroy a natural gem, undermining tourism, the public activist said in the video. - The economic benefit is questionable because of the low metal [copper] content of the ore. Open-pit mining and blasting could disrupt the hydrological regime and lead to desertification of the area. Baibulatov added that "even at the stage of geological exploration in 2020, violations of environmental norms were recorded," and "the opinion of the local population has not yet been taken into account."
