Case summary

Borisov's prosecution became known at the end of July 2021. He was accused of using violence against a representative of the authorities at a rally on 23 January 2021 in support of Alexei Navalny. On the day of the rally Borisov was a minor. On 1 September, he was sentenced to a five-year suspended sentence. The prosecution appealed the verdict, demanding a sentence of seven years of actual imprisonment. However, on 12 November, the appellate court upheld the verdict without changes.
