Case summary

A resident of Bryansk, a former employee of a penal colony. A case of financing extremist activities was brought against her because of a transfer to the Anti-Corruption Foundation. On 10 April 2025, Bornikova was sentenced to three years' suspended sentence.

On 17 December 2024, she resigned at will and was entitled to severance pay, but on 21 December, as a result of an internal audit, the department changed the wording of the dismissal to "due to a breach of contract by the employee", as a result of which Bornikova lost her right to receive benefits. The reason for the inspection was transfers to ACF, including those made before the foundation was recognised as an extremist organisation. The former employee tried to have the dismissal order declared unlawful, but failed.
