Case summary

Resident of Arkhangelsk. In 2019 participated in actions against the construction of a landfill in Shies. In April 2022, she was fined 40 and 35 thousand rubles under the administrative article on discrediting the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences) because of the installation of a cross in memory of the victims in Mariupol and an anti-war picket for 8 March, respectively. The reason for the initiation of a criminal case on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was a repost of a video of a cargo plane filled with the bodies of dead Russian soldiers. The caption to the video said that Moscow residents die in Ukraine much less often than Dagestanis, Buryats or Tuvinians. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions. On 10 January 2023, Chapurina was sentenced to a fine of 130,000 rubles.
