Case summary

Chernysheva is the Executive Director of the independent cultural space Revolt-Centre in Syktyvkar and the General Director of its legal entity, Kultpik LLC. Until 2022, she served as the manager of the publication 7×7. In July 2025, she was detained in a case concerning the alleged evasion of duties to submit documents required for inclusion in the register of “foreign agents”, after previously being held administratively liable under legislation on “foreign agents”. She was placed under a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions. Although Chernysheva herself was not designated a “foreign agent”, the publication 7×7 was added to the register in 2023. She was listed as a member of the publication, despite having ceased her involvement in 2022. Following this, she was fined three times under administrative provisions on violations of “foreign agent” legislation, owing to the absence of the required “foreign agent” labelling in 7×7’s publications.
