Case summary
Journalist, head of the Primorye branch of the Yabloko political party. In May 2022, detained as part of a criminal case on repeated discrediting of the Armed Forces. During the search, he allegedly handed over two gas pistols and five cartridges, which were stored in his possession illegally. He was given a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions. On March 31, 2023, Efimov was sentenced to a fine of 200 thousand rubles. In November 2023, it became known that a case was brought against him for repeated propaganda of Nazi symbols. He was again assigned a ban on certain actions. In July 2024, there was information about another case of discrediting the Armed Forces, brought against Efimov. These two cases were merged. On August 23, 2024, Efimov was taken into custody based on a third case of discrediting the Armed Forces. On October 18 2024, he was transferred to house arrest. On January 28, 2025, Efimov was sentenced in this case to two years in a penal colony. On March 28 2025, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by six months. On April 4, 2025, Efimov was sentenced to two years in a settlement type colony on the case of discrediting the RF Armed Forces and repeated propaganda of Nazi symbols.
