Case summary

The warrant officer from Rostov-on-Don, participated in the war. On 14 April 2025, he was sentenced to five and a half years in a general regime penal colony in the case of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army due to conversations with subordinates. According to the verdict, during these conversations Gadzhiev exaggerated the successes of the Ukrainian army and negatively assessed the actions of the Russian armed forces. The warrant officer was banned for three years from holding positions related to the exercise of organisational and administrative powers in state and local government bodies. In addition, Gadzhiev was stripped of his rank.

On 20 June 2025, the court of appeal replaced the punishment with a fine of 2.5 million rubles.
