Case summary

Resident of St. Petersburg, massage therapist. In 2023, law enforcers interviewed him because of his anti-war publications. On 31 October 2024, a man wrote to him saying he lived nearby and asked for a massage session in the near future. When Gelyastanov left his house with the massage table, he was detained by security forces. After the detention, he was taken to Khakassia. A case was opened against him for discrediting the Russian army, the reason was anti-war posts in "VKontakte", which he published in 2023, while being on the territory of Khakassia. As a measure of restraint, Gelyastanov signed a recognisance not to leave the village of Efremkino, Shirinsky district of Khakassia. On December 25th he was sentenced to a fine of 110 thousand rubles.
