Case summary

On Jun 22, 2023, a criminal case was opened against Gorshenina under the article on 'threats or violent actions in connection with the administration of justice or preliminary investigation, committed with the use of violence dangerous to life or health'. The reason was certain threats, which, according to the investigation, she sent in 2023 from a Russian SIM card to the judge of the Moscow Regional Court Elena Morozova and prosecutor Elena Koloskova. These participated in the mobile session of the Khimki City Court on Jan 18, 2021, where the decision was made to take Alexei Navalny into custody. In December 2023, Gorshenina was put on an international wanted list.

On Jun 1. 2024, the girl was detained on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, and then a court in Kazakhstan decided to send her to custody. On Aug 8, 2024, the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan refused to extradite Gorshenina to the Russian Federation, and hence the court decided to release her.
