Case summary
On 1 October 2020, it became known that a criminal case was initiated against Iosilevich for carrying out activities of an organisation recognised as "undesirable" in Russia. In 2019, protocols were drawn up on Iosilevich under the relevant administrative article - the materials of these administrative cases formed the basis of the criminal case. He was brought under a recognisanse on non-departure.
On 30 January 2021, Iosilevich was taken into custody. The investigation applied for the arrest of the accused, citing pressure on the witness Yaroslav Grach, whose relatives, according to his testimony, were called by someone having Iosilevich's voice. According to the lawyer, Iosilevich did not call the witness, while earlier the witness had been pranked on the phone.
At the hearing of Iosilevich's case on 23 April it became known that a new criminal case was brought against the activist under the article about death threats motivated by political, ideological, racial, national or religious enmity.
On 17 August he was released from custody, on 19 August a preventive measure in the form of prohibition of certain actions was chosen. On 20 September, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a obligation not to leave.
On 11 May 2022 Iosilevich was taken off the plane to Tel Aviv and detained. On 13 May, the court sent him to custody. On 27 May he was sentenced to a year and eight months in a penal colony. He was released on 19 September.
