Case summary

A resident of the Saratov region, Iskaliev was fined 15,000 rubles on 5 April 2023 under the administrative article on discrediting the army (part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code) for stamping anti-war inscriptions on 33 five-thousand-ruble banknotes. During a search of his home, authorities seized the stamp and stickers featuring Ukrainian symbols.

On 26 January 2024, he was detained on charges of financing extremist activities due to a donation to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). Later, he was additionally charged with discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. On 18 July 2024, Iskaliev was sentenced to a fine of 140,000 rubles.
